This drama depicts the life and
times of the musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, as seen through the
eyes of his rival, Antonio Salieri. Salieri comes to grips with the fact
that while he himself is very talented, Mozart derives a true genius
directly from God. With that realization, Salieri sets out to get his
revenge on God by destroying Mozart. The play's title derives from
Mozart's middle name, which means "Beloved by God."

CHICAGO returns triumphantly to Broadway. The story of Roxie Hart (now played by
"Taxi"'s Marilu Henner), a down-and-out chorine who grabs fame and fortune by
murdering her gangster lover started this exciting season with flash and sexy fire. Ben
Brantley in the New York Times raves, "This new incarnation, directed by Walter
Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking...makes an exhilarating case... for CHICAGO as a
musical for the ages...Bebe Neuwirth plays Roxie's jailhouse rival Velma, in a vampy, sexy
performance." Brantley praises: "Ms. Neuwirth has translated her dead-pan comic
persona and technical proficiency as a dancer into an ecstatic benchmark performance...to
see her turn her legs into a pair of air-slicing scissors, her face set in a bewitching
expression of self-satisfaction, is like falling in love, against your better judgement,
with a specialist in breaking hearts."

A retrospective of dance numbers created
by Bob Fosse, including selections from Cabaret, Chicago, Sweet Charity, All That Jazz,
Pippin, Dancin' and Big Deal.
Since Robert Louis Stevenson wrote
"The Strange Tale of Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde" in 1886, we've all been looking
in the mirror a little more carefully, trying to find the monster inside. Now one of the
most anticipated shows in years, JEKYLL & HYDE, is finally here on Broadway, with
music composed by Frank Wildhorn, and lyrics by Leslie Bricusse. Stevenson's horrific yet
compassionate story combines perfectly with a soaring score that culminates in what
Bricusse calls "the ultimate duet": Jekyll & Hyde singing together through
the mirror, dark and light. Howard Kissel in the Daily News says, "Several numbers -
notably 'This Is The Moment," and 'Someone Like You' - are genuinely moving...Robin
Phillips has directed and designed the show in the grand manner it requires and has drawn
superb performances from his cast...Robert Cuccioli...is sensational in the title
roles...Like Phillips' evocative sets, Ann Curtis' costumes capture the period
beautifully. Beverly Emmons' lighting adds immensely to the drama..." And even an
unlikely critic like talk-show host Larry King has weighed in: "JEKYLL &
HYDE...is the best musical I've ever seen. It should run forever!" Let your monster
loose - see JEKYLL & HYDE today!

10 years more! "The World's Most
Popular Musical" has a refurbished set, new costumes, a new scene, and most
important, a vital new 10th anniversary company. The heart-rending, inspiring story of
Jean Valjean, the thief who travels the revolutionary landscape of 19th century France to
find redemption, is as electrifying today as the day it opened. The 10th anniversary
company has earned rave reviews . If you've seen it before, see it again. If you've never
seen it, what are you waiting for?

"The challenge of THE LION KING
will be to make the stage version an actual theatricalization of a script which millions
of people have enjoyed - it won't simple be a film brought to life. I am excited that we
are combining Elton John and Tim Rice's music with a blend of rhythms and sound which will
create something new and exciting for Broadway." So says director Julie Taymor about
bringing Disney's extraordinarily popular movie THE LION KING to the Broadway stage.
No
one thought that the story of Simba the lion's journey from betrayal to redemption could
be done on the live stage, but as a director who incorporates fantastic puppets and masks
in her work, Taymor is known for doing the impossible, and THE LION KING will be her
greatest achievement. Mufasa, Simba, Scar, Timon, Pumba and all your favorites will come
to life on the stage of the newly restored New Amsterdam Theatre, looking familiar and
very new. Taymor's costumes are incredible, allowing us to see the actor as well as
envisioning the animal. Her creations go beyond mere puppetry - they are animated
sculpture.
The choreography of Garth Fagin brings
movement to such familiar songs as "Hakuna Matata" and "Can't You Feel the
Love Tonight?" as well as 4 new songs. THE LION KING is the highlight of the
season - plan ahead!

story of struggling artists reaching for glory in New York's East Village. Three love
stories intertwine as a group of friends deal with love, death, loyalty, AIDS, rent
strikes, and the end of the millennium. The New York Times calls it a "charming,
poignant rock opera...there's no denying that Mr. Larson discovered a winningly accessible
and ground-breaking musical formula that combines rock's drive, pop's memory-grabbing
melodiousness and the leitmotifs and harmonic counterpoints of opera."
